North Carolina's second district has a rich agricultural history, and remains a thriving economic asset to the district and our state as a whole. Our farmers are the salt of the earth, and represent one of our state's most valuable resources.

From cotton to cattle, from soybeans to sow, and poultry to peanuts, our farmers put food on the family table.

Much like other industries across the country, the long-term viability of farming is threatened by excessive government regulations.

I will always be a staunch supporter of agriculture and agribusiness. I recognize the importance of crop insurance, access to credit, land usage rights, a low regulatory burden, and good trade policy to a healthy agriculture sector.

As your Congressman, I will to fight to ensure North Carolina agriculture is treated fairly, has the needed protections from weather and climate, and can prosper.
